Medical Definition of LOD SCORE
: a statistic that is used to detect genetic linkage and that is equal to the logarithm to base 10 of the ratio of the probability that the data in a linkage experiment would be obtained if the genetic loci under investigation were linked to the probability that the data would be obtained if the loci were not linked
